Clinical pathology services

The Clinical Pathology Laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Werribee campus engages with undergraduate and graduate students from the Faculty of Veterinary Science focussing on diagnostic testing and how it can be used for the treatment of small and large animals and providing diagnostic support for research projects. The laboratory uniquely offers its general and specialist diagnostic services to commercial and private partners backed by a small team of dedicated, passionate and highly skilled staff.

Tests available

  • General haematology and biochemistry (see request form for test menu)
  • Coagulation including: PT, APTT, Fibrinogen, Factor testing, vWf and D-dimer.
  • Cross matching, Canine & Feline blood typing
  • Cytology: body fluids, CSF, bone marrow
  • Endocrinology: Cortisol, Progesterone, total T4
  • Urine analysis
  • Flow cytometry: canine and feline lymphoma and leukaemia

We are more than happy to explore testing for your research project. Please contact the laboratory with type and number of samples, and test/s required. We will provide you with a quote and estimated turn around time.
