We are committed to providing specialist veterinary care across our facilities, and through the Melbourne Equine Centre and Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, we deliver critical care to horses of all shapes and sizes. Our Werribee campus also hosts a veterinary animal hospital providing 24-hour specialist and emergency care for patients, supporting the local community.

University of Melbourne Equine Centre at Werribee

The University of Melbourne Equine Centre Werribee provides state of the art care to horses of all shapes and sizes. Cases are referred to the Centre from all over Victoria and interstate to be examined and treated by veterinary specialists.

Their services support the enhanced safety measures for the Spring Racing Carnival and international horses in training at the Werribee International Horse Centre.

Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital

The Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital (GVEH) is a world-class centre for equine practice and one of Australia’s leading equine hospitals, located in the heart of the Goulburn Valley region at Shepparton, Victoria.

The Equine Hospital offers complete equine veterinary care to the public, ambulatory services and a class of specialist equine referral services in the fields of lameness, medicine, surgery and reproduction.

Clinical pathology services

The Clinical Pathology Laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Werribee campus engages with undergraduate and graduate students from the Faculty of Veterinary Science focussing on diagnostic testing and how it can be used for the treatment of small and large animals and providing diagnostic support for research projects.
