Undergraduate studies at Melbourne Veterinary School

Discover pathways into your future veterinary career through undergraduate study.

The Veterinary Bioscience major offered by the University of Melbourne’s Bachelor of Science is the fastest undergraduate pathway to becoming a qualified veterinarian. Once successfully completed, you receive one year of advanced standing or credit, and transfer directly into the second year of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).

It’s important to note that entry to the Veterinary Bioscience major is based primarily on academic merit and is only possible for students who have received a conditional offer for the DVM. Once you have completed your second year of the Bachelor of Science, you may apply for this accelerated pathway.
