On the wonderful balmy summer evening of Saturday 3rd February, the BVSc class of 2012 had their slightly delayed 5-year reunion at a bar in St Kilda.
We had a turnout of 18 members of our class plus a few partners and it was wonderful to catch up with everyone.
Turns out not much changes in five years - we all look the same, and it's hard not to just talk about work - but at the same time a lot has happened. In our veterinary lives some of us are still in our first jobs while others have had many. Some have stayed in Melbourne and others have ventured around Australia and even the world. Among us there are residents in surgery, ophthalmology and clinical pathology as well as interns and GPs in smallies, mixed and equine practice. Some of us are dabbling in practice management and others are enjoying the flexibility of locuming. In our personal lives there have been marriages, babies, pets, house-buying and travel.
All in all, it was a great little reunion over a few drinks and we agreed that we'd love to try and catch up again in a year - we hope to see even more of the class there!
